Agnes Kory's MPhil thesis on Bartók and Ethnomusicology was highly praised by the examiners for the University of London. They deemed the thesis, an annotated catalogue with a generous introduction, very important for future Bartók scholars and they urged publication. (December 2004)

John Andrews - a hugely treasured member of the BBCM adult class since September 2003 - has won the Orchestra's Special Prize at an International Opera Conducting Competition in Rumania. (14 June 2005)

Michael Alexander Young, also a much appreciated member of the BBCM adult class since May 04, has come second in the Leeds Conducting Competition and he has also won the Audience Prize. (9 July 2005)

Agnes Kory has received the Béla Bartók Memorial Prize. It was presented to her at a prestigious ceremony by Béla Szombati, Hungarian Ambassador to the UK, and by Katalin Bogyay, Director of the Hungarian Cultural Centre in London. The Bartók Prize was given to Agnes Kory in recognition of her work on Béla Bartók and in music education. (2 May 2006)

Michael Alexander Young (much appreciated member of BBCM adult class since May 2004) has won the 3rd prize at the Pedrotti international conducting competition. There was no 1st prize. 800 young conductors applied, 130 of them were auditioned and 40 made it to the actual competition. (12 October 2006)

Agnes Kory has received the Pro Cultura Hungarica award. It was presented to her at a prestigious ceremony by Katalin Bogyay, Secretary of State, on behalf of the Minister of Education and Culture, Republic of Hungary. (19 February 2007)

On the 27th January 2016 (International Holocaust Day) Agnes Kory presented a lecture on murdered Hungarian Jewish composers and relevant historical background at a United Nations function in New York.
