BBCM reviews of concert, opera and ballet

On Sunday, 3rd November 1996, a group of BBCM students met at the Barbican Theatre. The concert we were going to was from a season of concerts named Exceptional Music Live. The pieces were performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The first piece was the Symphony No. 8 in G by the Czechoslovakian composer, Dvorák. The second piece, which was well performed, was Mahler's 1st Symphony in D. We were both greatly interested in the Third Movement of this piece, which was Frčre Jacques in Minor, which some of you may remember from our music classes. The conductor of this performance was Myung-Whun Chung, a Korean.

We both thoroughly enjoyed this performance and hope there will be many more of the same quality.
